How long does it take for magnesium citrate to make you poop?

Video Transcript:

Hi, everyone! Meaghan Esser here, Registered Holistic Nutritionist with ITL Health. Today I'm going to answer one of our most frequently asked questions: how long does it take for Magnesium Citrate to make you poop?

This may seem like a funny question, but if you're struggling with constipation, you know it's not funny at all. Constipation can be one sign of magnesium deficiency. This is because one of magnesium's main jobs is to help muscles relax, it's important to remember that the intestine is actually a muscle. So, if it's constricted, it can't allow stool to move through. Magnesium will also draw water to your bowel. So, if your stool is too hard, the water will help loosen it to move through your intestinal system. This can take action in about 30 minutes, it can take up to six hours, even twelve hours sometimes. So, it's really hard to know exactly when it will make you poop.

A lot of people like to take magnesium before bed because it helps them sleep and then they wake up and have a nice bowel movement in the morning. Now if you feel desperate and you need to take magnesium right now, it's not going to make you tired, it just helps your body relax a little bit. So, you can easily take it now and hope that it takes its effect in 30 minutes. For constipation issues, we highly recommend MAG365 Ionic Magnesium Citrate Powder. This is a nice choice because it's a powder and you can gradually increase your dose until it acts on your bowels.

Now taking this powder will not give you loose stools. That said, if you take too much magnesium, you can get loose stools because your body will expel excess magnesium through your bowel. If you don't have any constipation issues, and you think it's just funny to talk about poop and that's why you're watching this video, you can try our PrizMAG Magnesium Bisglycinate Capsules. These capsules are absorbed on a cellular level, it actually bypasses your intestinal system.

Again, this will not give you diarrhea. But if you're nervous, or you have a sensitive stomach, we highly recommend the capsules. If you would like to purchase any of these products, check your local health food store, or if you'd rather purchase online, you can order through us directly on our website. Thanks for listening.
